Yellow Day

Wow! What a great yellow day we had. Emily and I saw lots of people wearing a splash of yellow with their uniform. Everyone looked like they enjoyed dancing and singing along to the song “Happy” by Pharrell Williams.

We hope during September that you remember to be kind to everyone and keep in mind our Mary MacKillop quote “Find happiness in making others happy”.

During September at assembly, Emily and I will give you a few ideas to try out and all of them will be taken straight from the kindness rainbow on the board outside the staff room

Please make effort to be kind to others during this month and every other month as well.

Be kind and remember to SMILE.

Year 6 Leadership Day

On the 28th of May, Trent, Madison, Jessica, Dominic, Jelena, Destiny, Zane, Fikre, Mairead and  myself, who are 10 of our Year 6 leaders, went to Our Lady’s Primary School Sunshine for their annual leadership day. We went by bus to sunshine and had a short walk to Our Lady’s. Once we got seated in their auditorium the show started.  Our first guest speaker was Charlie Bezzina and he used to be a policeman. We also had humanitarian Moira Kelly, softball player Natalie Titcume, AFL football umpire Mat Nicholls and magician Luke Hocking. We were allowed to write notes about the people in the book they gave us. We also got a bottle of water, a stress ball, an A4 notebook, a pen, a bookmark, a bag of lollies (Yum!) and a bag to carry it all in. There were a few prize draws and almost everyone in our group won something. Their motto for the day was “show your leadership make it grow”. All in all it was a great day!

Can’t wait to write again!

PLANETARIUM EXCURSION
Year 4/5/6

On Monday 10th May the Year 4/5/6 classes went on an excursion to Scienceworks to see the Planetarium.  We saw a show called Solar System Odyssey. It was a fictional story about Jack Larson and his mission to find a planet (or moon), and with the help of “Trout Enterprises,” colonise the planet. Any story needs a few twists and turns and this one has a few, as well as facts about the planets and their moons. Although throughout the show you may feel a bit dizzy because of the quick movement on the dome screen, the overall experience is fantastic. We also had some free time to roam in the Think Ahead and the Alice in Wonderland exhibition. Nearing the end of our visit, we also got to go to the Sportsworks exhibition. If you are interested in seeing Scienceworks for yourself then click on this link: museumvictoria.com.au/scienceworks/ which will take you to the Scienceworks website which has more information on the shows and exhibitions running there.
